This simple 4-step process can create sky-high levels of motivation.

Now that the New Year has well and truly begun, it is time to discover how to keep that fire burning within all year round by becoming as hungry as a lion chasing it’s next meal.

The start of a new year sends our enthusiasm to an all-time high as we aim to make this year better than our last. Our time is spent productively writing inspirational goals.

Unfortunately, this does not automatically equate to the continuation of these sky-high levels of motivation, irrespective of whether you are naturally self-motivated.

Many entrepreneurs/business owners are faced with the challenges of sustaining high motivation levels. For this reason, energy management is crucial.

In fact, you have probably heard the alarming stories, know someone or experienced this yourself – from burnout, serious health issues, fatigue, weight loss or gain, confusion, overwhelm, insomnia, or even depression.

I wanted to share with you a valuable method you can use to maintain high levels of motivation all year around.

1. Assess Your Schedule

The first step is to assess your daily schedule. How we spend our time today determines where we will be in 1, 5 and 10 years time. What we repeatedly do determines our levels of success.

Make a list of all the activities you do daily along with the time spent on each one. Then, divide the activities into 2 categories: 1. Profit Producing  2. Non-Profit Producing.

2. Find The Flow

Now, from the list of the daily activities, divide into 2 lists – Energize and Drain.

1. Energize: These are the tasks that make you feel alive and regardless if you were paid to or not you would spend your time doing it. Write down the tasks that you love, you find easy, and no-one has to remind you to do them.

Choose your favorite activity, one that is linked to your goals and generates an income.

For example: Your favorite activity could be speaking engagements. Your goal linked to this activity “To be a speaker at 2016 Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) in Vancouver”.

2. Drain: Basically, these are the tasks that drain your energy. Signs that tasks drain you: noticing every second on the clock, constant procrastination, feeling challenged, frustrated or bored.

From that list determine the top 5 tasks that drain you. Brainstorm ways to delegate or dump these tasks. Then, watch your energy levels dramatically improve to focus on the things you love and sustain your motivation levels.

3. Become Fanatical

Now, that you have chosen that one activity, it’s time to become fanatical about it – dream, live, talk, and think about this one activity.

Focus on this one thing, as this is where the ‘magic’ happens. Choose mastery rather than being ‘average‘ at multiple things. Over a period of time, you will notice other things that you desire naturally begin to occur. Before you know it, you start attracting incredible people and new opportunities into your life.

4. Believe in The Invisible

An important element in sustaining your motivation levels and attracting what you want is to visualize, feel and wholeheartedly believe it will happen with every bone in your body, every breathe you take, every word you speak, and every thought you think.

Another great way to help you stay on course and keep the fire burning within, is to create a vision board. Look at it daily to keep your dream alive. Place your vision board where you spend the majority of your time.

Finding the flow in your business and life keeps your motivation and energy levels soaring and shifts your results dramatically. Review the results you are achieving in your life right now from business, family, health, relationships, education, and spirituality.

Motivation stems from doing what you love by finding your flow, becoming fanatical on one thing and most importantly believing in you and your ability to turn the invisible into visible.
