For some time now I have been feeling uninspired. This is out of the ordinary as I will often find daily inspiration from the people I met, seeing cute dogs on the street, finding a new coffee shop, listening to my favourite song/podcast or watching an inspiring YouTube video, making changes to my hairstyles or wardrobe and honestly the list goes on!

I am writing this post to encourage you to find your inspiration if you too have been feeling uninspired. Below are my recommendations to find your inspiration again.

1.Colouring In: Any activity that can keep me focused on the present moment is very valuable as I tend to be future focused. I have found colouring in to be cathartic.

According to the Healthline website, colouring in has many benefits for adults including: helps to improve your sleep, reduce anxiety and stress levels, stimulate your endorphins to boost your mood, and relaxes your mind and body.

According to Michelle Goldman, psychologist and Hope for Depression Research Foundation Media Advisor: “Colouring taps into your creativity and organizational abilities along with your focus, attention, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, she goes on to explain. That means when you colour, the right and left hemispheres of your brain work together to complete the task”.

2. Source A New Challenge: I absolutely love reading however fell out of the habit during and after COVID, for some reason I ceased finding enjoyment from doing so. Thankfully, I have returned to my love of books and have been reading non-stop.

One day whilst visiting my favourite book store, I noticed people looking at the jigsaw puzzles. I went over to take a look and fell in love with a stunning jigsaw puzzle – 1,500 pieces of big cats in the jungle. Wow, it certainly has been a challenge however I am determined to complete this task. With the added benefit once again of keeping me focused on the present moment.

In an article by USA Today, clinical psychologist Savana Howe explains: “Puzzles require persistence…The challenge of finding the right piece teaches patience, problem-solving, and perseverance — skills that can carry over into other areas of life and help build emotional resilience.”

3. Be Curious:Go out and meet new people, change your gym and/or working environment, find a new coffee shop, take a different way to work or find inspiration online. I recently found a range of Wellness Influencers that have offered great tips to tweak my daily habits and it has sincerely improved my health and fitness as a result. I find changing your environment helpful as I will often join new gyms to shift the environment I am in and people I meet daily which motivates me and boosts my mood. It ensures that you don’t become stagnant and helps keep life interesting.

I sincerely hope you have found this article valuable to implement new ways to become more inspired in your daily life. I would love to hear your tips on how you found your inspiration once again.
