A great way to start the New Year is to decide that you want this year to be better than your last. It is about getting into the drivers seat and using your personal power to create a new perspective, unleash your potential, believe in new possibilities and fully commit to living a fulfilling life.

The New Year is the perfect time of year to reset your mindset. Resetting your mindset requires focus, commitment and taking inspired action to achieve your goals.

To quote from Benjamin Hardy“Successful people make decisions based on where they want to be whereas unsuccessful people make decisions based on their current situation”.

Here are 3 steps to reset your mindset:

1. Life Overview

Write down every area of your life including career, family and friends, health, spiritual, finances, growth and contribution. Give each area of your life a score from 1 to 10 (1 – Needs improvement to 10 – Exceptional). Assess your life overview and decide on the areas where you need to focus your efforts to significantly improve that area of life. Use this free tool – the Wheel of Life.

2. True Values

Your values are standards of behaviour that you believe are important in life and drive your behaviour. Many people do not realise their ‘true’ values in life, Dr John Demartini has an infallible method that determines your true values in life.

3. Goal Setting

Our individual potential is unlimited and each goal we set unleashes endless possibilities.

Follow this 4-step goal setting process:

1. Write down your specific goal

2. Decide to fully commit to your goal – you know you have set the right goal when you are excited daily to take action.

3. Who do you need to become to achieve your goal? – Current self vs. ideal self

List the traits of your current self vs. ideal self.

There is no cap to your potential, to reset your mindset be clear on what you want, focus and fully commit to achieving your goal.
